Oppo F5 Review Design, Specification, Software, Performance....

The most important design trend of the year 2017 is the long screen. It is not easy to use curved glass for every company. The metal body is expensive but the expenditure is not high enough to make the display panel bigger. In the beginning of the year, Samsung and LG launched their flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6. They were the first smartphone of this year to come up with the big screen. But after this we got to see this feature also in Micromax Canvas Infiniti of Budget Range. Many mid-range phones also want to redeem the popularity of this feature.

Oppo has done the same with its latest smartphone Oppo F5. The design of this phone also dominates the company's F-Series special front cameras feature.

There is nothing shocking in it, because this change is obvious. Most people will be attracted to the phone due to this feature at first glance. Whether you like any feature of this phone. But we'll test it on every scale

Companies that have started offering large displays with 18: 9 aspect ratios, they miss out on making a phone with a totally non-border border. OPPO F5 is also one of these. There is no equal material on the edges. But due to the review unit being white, the remaining materials appear to be clean. The upper and lower part of the display still reminisces the old phones. Part of the front camera is next to the earpiece.

We do not like the strategies of those companies who already have the plastic screen protector with the phone. This is good for customers because they get a break from buying a screen protector that fits them. But according to us it spoils the look of the phone. "Borderless" effect is lost somewhere due to the extra line of plastic. Something similar happens with the OPP F5.

The rear part is of gold, it is also matte with metallic texture. Sometimes it looks pink, depending on the light. The bright chrome ring is on the edge of the phone, where the metal back and white color panel meets. The phone also has an iPhone 7 style antenna line. Generally, this phone is quite good to look, but according to our opinion this phone will look better in black.

On the right side you will find a dual sim tray with the power button. At the same time, the volume buttons are on the left side. There's nothing other than Mike Pinhole on top. At the same time, the bottom part is a bit full. Here you will find 3.5mm audio socket, micro-USB port, mic and speaker grill. It is easy to reach the existing fingerprint sensor on the back. Regrettably, the rear camera is gorgeous and its metal edge is a bit rough.

Oppo F5 with 7.5 mm thick looks slim and weighing 152 grams is not too much. Due to the texture of the rear part, there is no problem in holding the phone in hand. Due to the screen size you will not be able to reach every corner of the display with your thumb. The phone's screen is too big. But the experience of using is good.

Oppo F5 specification and software

The distance from one side to the other edge of the screen is 6 inches. But there is no duality in it that it is very compact compared to the old fashioned tablet. Its resolution is 1080x2160 pixels. This is due to the fit-fit of the 18: 9 aspect ratios in full-HD resolution.

The MTech 6763T processor has been used in the phone, which was recently launched. The clock speed of the processor is 2.3 GHz. Mali G71 MP2 GPU integrated for graphics is integrated. In OPPO F5 the user will be able to use only one sim 4G network. Apart from this, if you change the position of the SIM, then the phone is rebooted repeatedly which is troublesome.

Oppo F5 is now down with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB of storage. The company has reported that in December, 6 GB RAM and 64GB storage variants will also be dropped. It is worth noting that variants of 6 GB RAM will be available in black and red colors.

Other specifications include 3200 mAh battery, 16 megapixel rear camera, 20 megapixel front camera and separate microSD card slot. For connectivity, dual band Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS are available. We were disappointed to see the micro-USB port. Apart from this, phones do not support fast charging.

OPPO's custom skin is known as ColorOs. This phone runs on 3.2 version which is based on Android 7.1. It is one of the most comprehensive custom user interfaces and very polished. Many things seem to be inspired by iOS. All app icons are part of the Home screen. Photos, music, videos, browsers, clocks, and other apps are present in a custom avatar. You will find Facebook, WPS Office and Amazon Shopping and Prime Video App already installed. By the way, the phone is Flipkart Exclusive.

The settings are quite different from the app stock Android. In this case, you have to do some investigation before taking any action. You will also get a glimpse of the exquisite features of many color schemes. One of these is Clone Apps. With this feature, you will be able to use multiple apps with two IDs.

Oppo has also provided Face Recognition Security feature in this phone. We were very excited at first, because this feature after the iPhone X has been the subject of discussion. During the review, we found that the process of registration failed many times. Even after the set, there was a slight delay in unlocking the phone. In common usage, the fingerprint sensor is much faster and natural.

Oppo F5 Performance

It takes a little time to get used to its big screen. Occasionally the app was not fully scaled. For example, YouTube videos were being viewed in landscape mode as if they were being played in a black box.

Apart from this, the display is very good. It's crisp and brighter. Colors are punches and watching angles are the best. Whether we have to write something or watch a video, our experience is great. We got lost in it. We believe that this experience will be even more spectacular in Black Variants. The main draw is the screen protector given earlier. Scratches are scratched on it and it easily leaves the fingerprints.

Built-in speaker is powerful. Playing games and watching the video comes a clean and complete voice. The headset given together is also fine. But the bass is completely missing. After a few minutes it seems a little strange.

The 16-megapixel rear camera takes good photos at night with light of day. There is no shortage of details. The colors are in the appropriate amount and the camera also focuses rapidly. Even if there is a little light in the night, the photos are good. Videos are also quite sharp records and remain smoother in different situations.

Oppo F5 has a 20-megapixel front camera. The company has stated that it has AI-powered beautification mode. The faces are good in selfies but this can not be said about the background object. You will be able to capture good photos for social media. This is what we think is the main reason for taking selfie cameras. Despite being a selfie centric phone, the absence of flash seems shocking. But the screen flash works to some extent. AI Powered Beautification Mode will identify facial features. And Oppo has told that he has trained algorithms on different types of people. So that different intelligence techniques are used for different subjects. According to us, there were no special differences in photographs taken at different levels. Perhaps this technique does not bring any major changes, which is an important feature of it. It is expected that its AI feature will be better with time.

Battery life also does not disappoint. We could use the phone for about one and a half days. During this time, little games were played and web browsing was also done. Regrettably, the phone does not have quick charging support. The battery lasted 11 hours 24 minutes in our HD Video Loop Test. Looking at the screen it will be considered good. Disappointment is not about the availability of quick charge support. It took about 1 hour to recharge the battery from 10 percent to 65 percent, which is fine.
